Belly Deli
A boutique grocery store branding project rooted in everyday joy, curated taste, and visual charm.
About
Blending neighborhood charm with boutique aesthetics, this project redefines what a grocery brand can feel like.
Belly Deli is a boutique grocery store located in Mont Kiara – one of Kuala Lumpur’s most cosmopolitan neighborhoods, home to expats, young families, and globally minded locals.
When the founders approached me, they had a clear vision: create a grocery brand that didn’t feel generic or rushed – but intentional, curated, and beautiful. A place where you could grab daily essentials and discover imported European goods, all under one aesthetically refined roof.
This case explores how we translated that vision into a complete brand ecosystem – from naming, logo, and colors to signage, social media, and staff uniforms.

The Challenge
The Challenge
Most grocery brands lean into function. Belly Deli needed to feel boutique, curated, and instantly memorable.
The store was launching in a high-traffic, high-expectation neighborhood. Surrounded by international schools and expat-friendly cafés, the brand needed to feel modern, warm, and elevated — with visual cohesion across every touchpoint.
The challenge: how do you make a grocery store feel as stylish and inviting as a lifestyle brand — without losing its everyday utility?

Solution
Solution
We created a playful, modern identity rooted in freshness, simplicity, and global appeal.
From the first sketches to the final signage, every brand element was designed to reflect Belly Deli’s unique positioning: approachable, yet premium. We blended a friendly tone with curated design choices to create a visual identity that feels both neighborly and elevated.
Key Deliverables:
Brand Identity: Logo, brandmark, tagline, typography, and a fresh color palette inspired by produce and packaging nostalgia
Store Design Support: Exterior signboards, façade styling, grocery bag mockups, and price tag templates
Merchandise & Packaging: Reusable tote bags, stickers, tags, and takeaway items in custom brand colors
Social Media Design: Template kit, Instagram visuals, and brand launch content
Every piece was crafted to create a seamless experience – whether you’re passing the storefront or unpacking groceries at home.

Concept
Concept
This brand was built to make the everyday feel curated.
Belly Deli isn’t just another minimart. It’s a place where everyday shopping becomes part of a lifestyle – relaxed, visually pleasing, and community-rooted. The design needed to reflect that: accessible enough for locals, elevated enough for expats, and consistent enough to build long-term recognition.
The logomark is compact and adaptable, designed to sit just as confidently on a receipt as on reusable grocery bags. The supporting visuals celebrate the joy of good food and good taste — with graphic icons, playful stickers, and clear signage that feels welcoming, not overwhelming.
